This is a lovely pair of French drinking cups which were engraved by a soldier

The lid depicts the Netherlands national flag

and the skull is well retained

and then was modified for WWII use by removing the knuckle guard portion

This is one of the scarcest pieces of Indian Wars equipment, the first and possibly the only example we will ever have for sale, the M1872 Valise bag. These were worn with the Pattern 1872 belt, braces, and haversack. This example has a great tarred front flap, though the edge trim is now heavily cracking and torn away. The straps are partially retained though some are gone. The interior leather border is stamped
