This is an unusual example of a Prussian Model 1915 Pickelhaube which features pressed paper artificial leather visors. This is a unique ersatz helmet dating from just prior to the introduction of the more common fitzhelms and steel pickelhaubes. Imperial Prussian Line Infantry enlisted man's Mannschaften (other ranks) pickelhaube. The M1915 was the last model of Pickelhaube issued prior to the move to steel helmets.
